Hardware Hawaii Announces Plan to Sell Business

Hardware Hawaii president, David Lundquist, today announced he has launched a search for a buyer of the Company. “I have never felt better and had more fun working with the Hardware Hawaii community,” said Lundquist, “But, I am not getting younger and after more than 40 years as president, now seems the time to look for the right buyer of the Company.” Lundquist indicated he was almost literally born into the business started by his parents in 1954. Lundquist continued, “My dad and mom started in a Kailua strip mall focusing on the Windward building supply and hardware market, and after I assumed leadership we grew to service all of Oahu and opened a Kauai store.”

Lundquist explained that the search will be measured and deliberate. “We are not in a rush; I want the right buyer to carry on the business we have built,” he continued. MWA Capital Advisors has been engaged to advise with the search and transaction.

Hardware Hawaii was founded in 1954, and principally retails and wholesales building and home improvement supplies to residential customers and housing contractors. The business has stores at Kailua, Mapunapuna, Koloa, and Kapolei, and operates a four-acre distribution center at Kapolei.
